Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,057.47 points on Thursday, down 6.74 points, or 0.33%, from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index was up by 18.18 points, or 0.89%, as it closed Wednesday at 2,064.21 points, with a daily trading volume of 37.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 13.6320 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 13.8040 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/lira exchange rate fell to 15.6280 from 15.7580, while a British pound traded for 18.6940 liras, down from 18.9180.
Brent crude oil sold for around $84.40 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
